Easton, MA: 17th Annual Father’s Day Road Race

Hello,

I am writing to you in regards to our 17th Annual Father's Day Road Race on June 19, 2011 at The Children's Museum in Easton.  This annual five-mile road race and two-mile "Fun Walk" benefits the educational programs and exhibits of the Children's Museum in Easton.  There will be plenty to do the day of the race, including: a post-race party, raffles, and awards, the museum is also giving away t-shirts to the first 300 pre-entrants, as well as cash prizes for the top 3 male and female runners!

It would be greatly appreciated if you could post this information on your website, as well as pass the information along to interested runners. The race attracted almost 400 entrants from communities throughout Southeastern Massachusetts last year and is a great event to be part of!

If you would like anymore information you can go to the race's website www.fathersdayroadrace.com or contact Andrew Peterson either by email info@childrensmuseumineaston.org

Thank you,

St Pats 5K

The day was partly cloudy more overcast at times than others. The breeze was chilling but in the pack bearable.

With over 3,000 finishers, there was a good sized pack. Enough to keep mostly warm as we gathered for the start.

Fortunately, the pack filled in quickly and after the usual brief speeches and National Anthem, we were off. Heading up Smith St to the turn around point and then down hill coming to the State House guarded by the minutemen on top. It seemed like the State House was forever in front of us and not coming close enough soon enough.

Such are the illusions or delusions of a runner.

Refreshed by going to the well

Went running late Sunday afternoon, not my normal time. I prefer to run in the morning before the events of day get rolling. The snow in the morning changed those plans. Made more sense to go in the afternoon when the roads would be clear. I could put my foot down and know it would stay there instead of slip sliding this way and that.

One of my favorite routes is out Chestnut St to Jordan Rd and over to RT 140 back to Chestnut/King and home.

Jordan with its rolling terrain provides a good workout. I did stop for a couple of photos but it was worth it. The photos came out well and I had a good run. I was refreshed by the well!

The energy generated by the run, keep me going into the evening. All that fresh air was a good re-charge to the body so I could get things done.

How do you get a re-charge late in the day when you need it?
