| Coach Joe Vigil
Dr. Joe Vigil was instrumental in the success of the US's most recent Olympic Marathon Medalists: Deena Kastor (Bronze - Athens 2004) and Meb Keflezighi (Silver 2004). In Cross Country he coached two athletes who both won 8 senior cross country titles Kastor, and Pat Porter. As a collegiate coach Coach Vigil was head coach at Adams State College for nearly 30 years. While at Adams State Vigil led a program that won 19 NAIA Team Championships and produced 87 individual champions and 425 All-Americans. His 1992 team cross country team won with a perfect score of 15 points the only one ever achieved in a collegiate national championship.
